cp's OEIS Frontend

This is a front-end for the Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences, made by Christian Perfect. The idea is to provide OEIS entries in non-ancient HTML, and then to think about how they're presented visually. The source code is on GitHub.

Also binary rooted identity trees (those with no symmetries, cf. A004111).
From Gus Wiseman, May 04 2021: (Start)
Also the number of unlabeled binary rooted semi-identity trees with 2*n - 1 nodes. In a semi-identity tree, only the non-leaf branches directly under any given vertex are required to be distinct. Alternatively, an unlabeled rooted tree is a semi-identity tree iff the non-leaf branches of the root are all distinct and are themselves semi-identity trees. For example, the a(3) = 1 through a(6) = 6 trees are:
(o(oo)) (o(o(oo))) ((oo)(o(oo))) ((oo)(o(o(oo)))) ((o(oo))(o(o(oo))))
(o(o(o(oo)))) (o((oo)(o(oo)))) ((oo)((oo)(o(oo))))
(o(o(o(o(oo))))) ((oo)(o(o(o(oo)))))
(o((oo)(o(o(oo)))))
(o(o((oo)(o(oo)))))
(o(o(o(o(o(oo))))))
The a(8) = 11 trees with 15 nodes:
((o(oo))((oo)(o(oo))))
((o(oo))(o(o(o(oo)))))
((oo)((oo)(o(o(oo)))))
((oo)(o((oo)(o(oo)))))
((oo)(o(o(o(o(oo))))))
(o((o(oo))(o(o(oo)))))
(o((oo)((oo)(o(oo)))))
(o((oo)(o(o(o(oo))))))
(o(o((oo)(o(o(oo))))))
(o(o(o((oo)(o(oo))))))
(o(o(o(o(o(o(oo)))))))

We define the n-th standard ordered rooted tree to be obtained by taking the (n-1)-th composition in standard order (graded reverse-lexicographic, A066099) as root and replacing each part with its own standard ordered rooted tree. This ranking is an ordered variation of Matula-Goebel numbers, giving a bijective correspondence between positive integers and unlabeled ordered rooted trees.
A generalized Bethe tree is an unlabeled rooted tree where all branches directly under the same root are equal.

Examples

The terms together with their corresponding ordered rooted trees begin:
    1: o
    2: (o)
    3: ((o))
    4: (oo)
    5: (((o)))
    8: (ooo)
    9: ((oo))
   11: ((o)(o))
   16: (oooo)
   17: ((((o))))
   32: (ooooo)
   37: (((o))((o)))
   43: ((o)(o)(o))
   64: (oooooo)

Also known as homeomorphically irreducible rooted trees, or rooted trees without nodes of degree 2.
A rooted tree is lone-child-avoiding if no vertex has exactly one child, and topologically series-reduced if no vertex has degree 2. This sequence counts unlabeled topologically series-reduced rooted trees with n vertices. Lone-child-avoiding rooted trees with n - 1 vertices are counted by A001678. - Gus Wiseman, Jan 21 2020

Examples

			G.f. = 1 + x + x^2 + 2*x^4 + 2*x^5 + 4*x^6 + 6*x^7 + 12*x^8 + 20*x^9 + ...

Formula

For n > 1, this sequence counts lone-child-avoiding rooted trees with n nodes and more than two branches, plus lone-child-avoiding rooted trees with n - 1 nodes. So for n > 1, a(n) = A331488(n) + A001678(n). - Gus Wiseman, Jan 21 2020
